Join us at Crystal Shade Pottery at 100 Taylor Street in Nashville, Tennessee for a fun, beginner-friendly hand-building pottery class designed for anyone who wants to learn to work with clay, get creative, and make pottery that’s completely their own.

Only 4 Students Per Class

This isn’t a big pottery class where you’re trying to catch the instructor’s attention from across the room.

Each class is limited to just FOUR students, which means you’ll receive lots of hands-on help, demonstrations, and one-on-one instruction throughout the course.

No previous pottery experience is necessary. Complete beginners are absolutely welcome.

My teaching style is relaxed, encouraging, and hands-on. I’ll teach you the techniques you need, help you figure out how to create what you’re imagining, and give you plenty of freedom to make your pieces your own.

There are no pottery police here.

Class Schedule

Tuesday, October 6
We’ll start with the basics of working with clay and begin creating your first hand-built pottery pieces.

Tuesday, October 13
We’ll continue building, learn additional hand-building techniques, and work on your individual projects.

Tuesday, October 20
You’ll finish your pieces and prepare everything for the kiln.

Last Tuesday of October – No Class
Your pottery needs time to dry completely and go through its first kiln firing. Clay has its own schedule. We merely work for it.

Tuesday, November 3

Final Session – Glazing Day!
We’ll come back together after the first firing to glaze your pottery. You’ll choose your colors, learn how to apply glaze, and prepare your pieces for their final kiln firing.

After the final firing, your finished pottery will be ready for pickup.
