The "Tiki Time" Totem Mug Friday July 17th 6:30-9:00pm

Escape the Nashville heat and step into a tropical oasis at our July "Tiki Time" Workshop! This month, we are channeling retro Polynesian pop-culture to create tall, sculptural Totem Mugs—perfect for your favorite summer cocktails, mocktails, or just a really big iced coffee.

This isn't your average coffee cup class. We will be building tall cylinder vessels and using special carving tools to create deep relief designs. Whether you want to make a fierce tiki face, a palm tree paradise, or a geometric tribal pattern, we’ll help you bring the island vibes to life.

Bonus: We’ll be serving complimentary tropical mocktails (with little umbrellas, of course!) while you work.

What You’ll Learn:

• Cylinder Slab Building: How to construct a tall, straight-walled vessel that is sturdy enough to hold a "Zombie" or "Mai Tai."

• Carving & Relief: We will use loop tools to carve away clay, creating 3D faces and textures that pop when glazed.

• Stylized Handles: Learn to pull a handle that looks like bamboo or a tropical vine.

What’s Included:

• All Materials: Stoneware clay, carving tools, and a selection of "jungle" glazes (deep greens, ocean blues, and sunset oranges).

• Instruction: Step-by-step guidance on how to build and carve your totem.

• Refreshments: A tropical mocktail to sip while you sculpt.

• Firing: We handle all the kiln work.

The Details:

• Skill Level: Beginner-friendly! This is a hand-building class (no wheel involved).

• Afterward, you’ll choose from a curated color palette for glazing once pieces are bisque-fired.

  • Return next week to glaze it yourself for a small $10 add-on if you’d like to enjoy the full finishing process.
